Campfire Studio is seeking a part-time summer intern needing college credit, to fulfill a Production Assistant Role here at our ceramic studio in Westbrook. This opportunity will offer exposure to our design and production process, and will offer experience in how to run a small creative business. 

Hello! My name is Kristen Camp, owner and creative director of Campfire Studio along with my husband Joe, who runs the business side of things and builds all of our displays. I went to college in Greenville, SC and received a BFA in 3-D Studio Arts with a concentration in Ceramics. We are a ceramic and floral design studio. We create handmade pottery in our beautiful industrial space in the Dana Warp Mill in Westbrook. We love plant life and flowers which we have chosen to incorporate as a part our business model. Scheduled hours: 10-15 Hours a Week (5 hour days)

Responsibilities will include: 

  • Ceramic production 
  • Finishing and product preparation for outgoing order and shows
  • Shipping and handling of outgoing orders
  • Studio cleaning and organization
  • Collaboration on Social Media and Blog development 
  • Planting 
  • Glaze and Clay mixing
  • Floral design assistance (no experience necessary)
  • Processing flowers for our summer weddings 
  • Possibly floral installation + set up assistance 
  • Open to working some weekends 


  • Must have a High School Education
  • Must have some experience in working with clay (hand building or the wheel)
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. on a daily basis 
  • Ability to work standing for 6-8 hours 
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi task
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment and follow instructions
  • Experience in Marketing via social media and blogging (preferred but not required)
  • Advanced throwing experience (preferred but not required)
  • Ability to communicate and report back to a team leader on the status of production
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic about our brand and our product
